How things Grow?

The grass is green the sky is blue.
The flowers are beautiful just like you.
Flowers grow from seeds.
They grow and grow and grow.
They need water and sun to grow too.
They grow in your garden .
The butterflies fly up over the clouds to see the sky.

All About Me Poem

I wish I had a water park in the back yard.
Like a gigantic twirling water slide.
I dream of snuggling up in a cloud with a book.
I am a great reader I used to not like writing, but now I love writing.
I seem to be funny, but I'm really serious.

Finding Patterns in Nature

Room 16 were going on a nature hunt find some flat leaves for art. Some people buddied up. We looked all around the school. We went to places like on the court, by the pool and in the forest. When we got back we got started on doing the crayon rubbing by putting a leaf under our paper and rubbing the side of the crayon on the paper.

Why are we doing this?

Were using the crayon rubbings as our base for our Hundertwasser picture collage.Tomorrow we are going to paint our  background and then cut up the leaf rubbings to make our own flower pictures.

One armed Noah

On Easter Friday I broke my arm. I was swinging on the monkey bars when I lost my grip so I fell. It really hurt and not until the next day dad noticed that it really hurt and could be broken so we went to the doctor. I have a red cast on it now for three weeks.

I drew this in Kid Pix using my left hand. I am normally right handed.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser

We are learning about the art and style of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. He was an artist from Vienna but he spent almost 25 years here in New Zealand.  Andrea thought we would like his style as he uses a lot of curvy lines and he is really creative. Our new Junior Block is almost finished and it sits right in front of our forest. Hundertwasser loved the environment and a lot of the buildings he created incorporated nature too. We thought that sounded like our school.

Here is our first attempt at drawing in the style of Hundertwasser. He drew trees like lollipops which looks exciting. We are painting pictures and using Kid Pix to create our own Hundertwasser.
