Week 10 Reflection

We all know this is going to be a big one. Lots of things went wrong but they are all teaching and learning points....Andrea will teach us some and some we just have to learn from....

  • We are working together more.
  • Some of stories need to be a bit longer and use more of their words.
  • Make sure that everyone has a part in the group. The whole group needs to be able to retell the story.

iMovie

  • Still need to speak louder.
  • Some people were being silly on camera so we had to do re-takes.
  • When we do the movie we should take only one or two tries and not waste time.
  • Our pictures turned out really good.
  • The camera stayed still.
Goal for Week 11: To speak clearly and have fun while learning.

Week 10 GLS Live

After a re-taping, our Week 10 episode is ready for viewing.

Enjoy as please leave us some feedback.

Week 9 Reflection - Whole Class

Week 9 GLS Live Reflection
What we thought of Week 9.
  • This week we made the stories make more sense through the writing.
  • Our stories were longer as well.
  • We all had different stories.
  • Groups worked better together as more people were helping.
  • Some groups still feel that some students are not contributing. (How are we going to fix that?)
imovie and Set
  • Some of our voices are still hard to hear. They need to be louder.
  • The background was better because we made it.
  • Some bits of our news was funny because some of us are learning how to NOT read the other person’s lines.
  • Our kids pix drawing had lots of detail but some still need extra work.
Week 10 News Show Goals:
  • Our goal is to have no stick people in Week10.
  • Look at the camera a bit more.
  • Non-contributing students to step up and help out!
  • Louder voices.

GLS Live - Week 9

Here is our next installment. Reflection to follow.

Every week it keep on getting better!

Punctuation Punkrockers Collaborate using Wikis

Collaorative Writing using Wikis.
As part of their entry into the Collaborative Story writing project, http://writeyourstory.wikispaces.com/
we had to write the beginning of a story and then send it off to another school where they added some and then it got sent off to three more schools before a finished story is made. We also had to draw three pictures to support our entry.
Here is the Punctuation Punkrockers with their entry:

On a stormy night in an old dark classroom the sound of metal bars sliding together could be heard . Nudge the classes new budgie poked his out to see if the coast was clear. He was just getting used to his wings when he opened the cage door and flew out .He knew it was risky but he had to try. He couldn't stay cooped up in a cage eating seed for the rest of his life. He had to find...

Intriguing… where the story goes from here is up to a school in Los Angeles now, but check back as we will publish the finished story once it has done the rounds.

So…what do you think? I think your kids are amazing !
Andrea
