Friedensreich Hundertwasser

We are learning about the art and style of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. He was an artist from Vienna but he spent almost 25 years here in New Zealand.  Andrea thought we would like his style as he uses a lot of curvy lines and he is really creative. Our new Junior Block is almost finished and it sits right in front of our forest. Hundertwasser loved the environment and a lot of the buildings he created incorporated nature too. We thought that sounded like our school.

Here is our first attempt at drawing in the style of Hundertwasser. He drew trees like lollipops which looks exciting. We are painting pictures and using Kid Pix to create our own Hundertwasser.

  1. Thank you Room 16 for introducing me to a new artist. I wonder how our new buildings compare with Hundertwasser's art.

  2. Hi Room 16, what amazing pictures you have done on kidpix. The colors are bright and eye-catching. I think curves are fun to draw and help me to relax, how about you? Hundertwasser must have liked NZ to stay here for so long and we were lucky to get to see some of his great art.
