Well, we have gone through all the different countries that are here for the Rugby World Cup 2011. WE have saved the best for last, The All Blacks.
Room 13 brainstormed what they thought people might want to know about the All Blacks and used the iPads to research and write our own stories.
We hope you enjoy our latest edition.
And please stay tuned...we are changing our GLS direction.

GLS LIVE Week 4 - Rugby World Cup 2011 Edition
Hi all !
Sorry to all our fans for being late this this week's episode. We had a busy week and our teacher was away on Friday so we couldn't film.
Anyway, we think this is one of our best episodes so sit back and enjoy listening to more facts about the countries visiting us for the Rugby World Cup 2011.

GLS LIVE Week Three Term 3
We are welcoming a lot of countries to New Zealand for the rugby world cup. We thought it would be a good idea to learn some facts about each country that is sending a team.
WALT(we are learning to) research and put the facts into our own words.
WALT speak clearly and with a good volume.
Enjoy this week's edition.

GLS Live Week 1 - Shout for Samoa
Talofa and welcome back to Term 3.
This term marks the start of the Rugby World Cup 2011 hosted here in New Zealand. Each community had the opportunity to adopt a team to welcome them to our nation and make them feel at home.
Our school and community have adopted Manu Samoa which is great as Samoan's have historical roots in Grey Lynn.
This weeks' edition is all about Samoa. We have also worked hard on our camera work and use of the green screen.
Enjoy the episode and please comment !

PMI for GLS Live Term 2
Term 3 GLS Live
Review and Solutions.
| Problem | Solution |
| Camera is moving around a lot and making the picture wobbly. | Have a tripod or a camera stand to steady the camera. Use a music stand to hold the ipad in place. |
| Can hear the class in the background moving chairs around and some talking. | Class could be doing silent reading outside while the classroom is used as a studio. |
| News readers not always focussed and looking at the camera. | Hold cue cards directly behind the camera person so the news readers eyes are looking straight ahead. News readers should practise a lot and speaking clearly and with good volume. |
| Sometimes wearing green when using the green screen. | Don’t wear green or you can borrow a jumper from a friend. Don’t wear green on Fridays if you’re a news reader. |
| Sometimes certain groups didn’t finish their news item so they weren’t part of the programme for that week. | Use your time wisely. Monday to Thursday is enough time to get a story written and illustrated. |

School Holiday Edition of GLS Live
We are still learning how to use the green screen. Our goal this week was to have less camera movement which I think the students achieved.
Our next goal is to find a better place to film so we get all of the news readers body in the shot and that the shot makes visual sense.
We will tackle that in Term 3.
Enjoy and please leave us comments or if you are a green screen expert then please leave us some tips !

GLS Live Week 10
This week in New Zealand is Maori Language Week so we decided to do the news show around that week as it ties in with our relationship theme and it is also part of who we are as New Zealanders.
It was also our first time using the green screen so we could have "real" pictures behind us. We are learning all the time and we learned that we have to stand still when filming.

Please leave us comments as we love comments and can learn from them too !

Happy Canada Day - GLS Live Week 9
In honour of Canada Day, and because Andrea, our teacher, is Canadian, we focussed our news items on learning some facts about Canada.
We all reckon Andrea should make us Beaver Tails for morning tea next week too ! Yum yum !
Andrea also added some photos her brother had sent her of Vancouver.
Enjoy the show ! Make sure you leave us comments !

GLS Live week 8
This week the students worked hard to produce the show on time and by themselves. They almost did it !
They researched, wrote, and filmed the show themselves and Andrea still puts it together in iMovie, but they're getting there.

Week 10 Reflection
We all know this is going to be a big one. Lots of things went wrong but they are all teaching and learning points....Andrea will teach us some and some we just have to learn from....
- We are working together more.
- Some of stories need to be a bit longer and use more of their words.
- Make sure that everyone has a part in the group. The whole group needs to be able to retell the story.
iMovie
- Still need to speak louder.
- Some people were being silly on camera so we had to do re-takes.
- When we do the movie we should take only one or two tries and not waste time.
- Our pictures turned out really good.
- The camera stayed still.
Goal for Week 11: To speak clearly and have fun while learning.
Week 10 GLS Live
After a re-taping, our Week 10 episode is ready for viewing.
Enjoy as please leave us some feedback.

Week 9 Reflection - Whole Class
Week 9 GLS Live Reflection
What we thought of Week 9.
- This week we made the stories make more sense through the writing.
- Our stories were longer as well.
- We all had different stories.
- Groups worked better together as more people were helping.
- Some groups still feel that some students are not contributing. (How are we going to fix that?)
imovie and Set
- Some of our voices are still hard to hear. They need to be louder.
- The background was better because we made it.
- Some bits of our news was funny because some of us are learning how to NOT read the other person’s lines.
- Our kids pix drawing had lots of detail but some still need extra work.
Week 10 News Show Goals:
- Our goal is to have no stick people in Week10.
- Look at the camera a bit more.
- Non-contributing students to step up and help out!
- Louder voices.

Week 8 GLS LIVE class reflection.
Week 8 GLS Live News reflection.
- Some of our stories need to make more sense.
- Talk a bit louder when recording so we can be heard.
- Try and work faster so we can have more time to edit the writing better.
- Good how we had jobs so we knew what to do. Now we work together.
- Some groups ended up doing the same story.
- Put our birds even further away so they don't chirp through our newscast.
- iMovie Opinions:
- “ I think it was great because we told the story clearly.” Anetema
- “Interesting that each person got to have a turn and it flipped really quick so it looked cool.” James
- “ It was good but it needs more work on memorising the script and not look down.” Chelsea
